Brenda Skeffington begins her 6th season at Brevard College and has outstanding success during her tenure of 22 years of Head Volleyball Coaching at the collegiate level with 408 career wins and 361 losses before this season started. Over the past 6 years, she has taken the Tornados from eighth place in the conference to 1st place in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.  Skeffington is optimistic about the upcoming season.  I am looking forward to continuing a winning tradition at Brevard.  I define winning as "Competing at one's peak performance physically, mentally, and spiritually." 
 
Prior to taking over at Brevard, Skeffington coached at The College of Wooster, Robert Morris College (Division I), and St. John Fisher College, respectively.  In addition to coaching college, Skeffington has been active  Directed Volleyball Camps at Brevard College, Wooster, Fisher;  and at several local camps including:  Brevard High School, East Henderson High School, Girl Scouts of Asheville, Pisgah High School, Rosman High School and Shelby High School.
"I have always been active in youth and developmental volleyball programs building long-lasting relationships with the area organizations." 

Best season at Brevard 2004:  26, 9 overall, tied for 1st in the AAC and finished 3rd in the AAC Tournament.

Marquessa Chappell was player of the year in the AAC last year , as a sophomore and an All Region Player.  

This season Sandy Tabor is leading the conference and Marquessa Chappell is still performing better than last year (and is 2nd in the AAC in hitting percentage.)
